REWIND & RECHECK (SABERTOOTH REWRITE)

based on the rosenberg bridge theory

March 35th, 3006

Earth has gone to shambles, and the few humans that remain left live on space stations, surviving on limited food supply.

FSSHHHH

The sound of the door is one the scientist has become accustomed to. A nametag jingles, hanging from her coat as she walks. It reads:

LISA ORINARI

With her picture and age to the left. It state's she's 29, going on 30.

Space and the cosmos have always been Lisa's passion, since she was a little girl. However, some things are not as good as they seem.

Life has slapped her across the face, and she plans to reclaim what is has taken from her.

She paces over to the control panel, glaring the assistant captain with a raised eyebrow.
The man was thin, scrawny, with short black hair and somewhat sallow skin. He always seemed to have something wrong with him. Sick, achy, shaking, fainting...she wasn't sure he was even qualified for this job.

She briefly tucked a strand of brown hair behind her ear, before speaking to him.

" What're the readings, Kaster? "

He jolted as she spoke to him, his identity tag almost falling off his uniform. She briefly caught a glance of it.

JOSEPH KASTER
28

" We appear to be in a clear path, "

He sputtered out, shaking off his nervousness, subconsciously slicking back his hair.

" But Captain still says we should be wary of debris and stationary ships. He also told me the system's been faulty lately, but our engineer left to repair Luca Gasitro's ship after an asteroid encounter. "

" Bastard left right when we needed him. "

She grumbled to herself, fiddling with her identity tag before sighing.

" I'll ask around, see if there's anyone who has any kind of expertise in that field. "

" Got it. Thanks, Orinari. "

She strode off without another word to the skittish man, her coattails trailing slightly behind.

She asked, but always received the same answer

IAN YUVIN, the adventurous astronaut.

" Sorry, cant help you. "

ELIZABETH EKORO, the curious biologist.

" Nope! Sorry, you'll have to ask someone else! "

SALEN KAMBO, one of Lisa's closest colleagues.

" Cant say I know a lick about the systems. "

Even the Captain himself, VINCENT HAST.

" Cant help you, kid. We'll have to wait until the engineer swings by. "

Lisa stamped her foot to the cold floor in frustration, groaning.

" Why is it that conveniently no one knows ANYTHING about fixing the systems? "

She then let her shoulders slump, sighing.

" I suppose I'll have to take matters into my own hands. "

Lisa found herself in many places: On top of a step ladder rewiring the alarm system, under the control panel fixing the machinery, in Communications putting the settings right, and few others.

Finally, she sighed, pressing her back against the wall and sliding down to the floor.

Her back ached with a long days work of slouching and straining at the same time, and she had to spend the rest of it peering over blood samples and DNA fragments. Ugh.
